H.O.P.E. Addictions Recovery Program – Finding True Freedom in Christ

Addictions are powerful. They entangle, they trap, and they promise relief—yet they ultimately lead to bondage.
That’s why we are excited to introduce the H.O.P.E. Addictions Recovery Program at Lighthouse Baptist Church, located between Asheboro and Seagrove, NC. If you or someone you love is struggling, please know: we are here to serve.

What Is H.O.P.E.?
The H.O.P.E. program was founded in 2008 by Pastor Rick Carter Jr. of Oklahoma City. Since its founding, this ministry has been used in numerous churches and has helped thousands of individuals who were battling life-controlling addictions.

H.O.P.E. stands for:
Helping
Others
Put off
Entanglements

The word entangled in Scripture carries the idea of being trapped or ensnared. Many today are living in exactly that condition. “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of
death.” –Proverbs 16:25

Many addiction programs focus on self-help. But what happens when you’ve already discovered that you cannot fix yourself?
H.O.P.E. is not built on self-help. It is built on Christ-help. Because true freedom is not found within — it is found in Jesus Christ.

A Bible-Based Approach to Recovery
H.O.P.E. is firmly grounded in Scripture and focuses on transforming the heart and mind through biblical truth.
Our Program Focuses On:
 Casting down imaginations
 Capturing every thought
 Correcting all thinking
Addiction begins in the mind. Freedom also begins in the mind — when it is surrendered to Christ.
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all
understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – Philippians
4:6-7
The goal is not behavior modification alone — it is heart transformation through biblical
truth and the peace of God.

What Struggles Does H.O.P.E. Address?
Addiction takes many forms. Some of the most common entanglements include:
 Alcohol
 Heroin
 Cocaine
 Methamphetamines
 Cigarettes & Tobacco
 Pornography
 Sexual Sin
 Gambling
 Eating Disorders
 And many others
These struggles are powerful. They may have already cost you relationships, finances, health, or peace. You may have tried other programs and found yourself discouraged. But there is hope. Not hope in yourself — Hope in Christ. As millions have discovered: “Knowing Christ Sets You Free!”
