Helping the Community Through Church

A church is more than a building where people gather each week. It is a group of people who have an opportunity to make a difference in their community. Jesus taught His followers to love God and love others. One way we do that is by looking for opportunities to serve the people around us.

Meeting Practical Needs

People in our communities face many different challenges. Some need encouragement. Some need help. Some are struggling with family problems, addiction, loneliness, or difficult circumstances. The church can come alongside people during those seasons.

Sometimes helping means providing a meal, offering a ride, listening to someone who needs to talk, or simply letting someone know that they are not alone. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Sharing the Hope of Christ

While meeting practical needs is important, the church has something even greater to offer: the hope found in Jesus Christ. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Our service should point people beyond ourselves and toward God. The goal isn’t simply to make our community a better place. It is to help people see the love of Christ and hear the truth of God’s Word.

A Church That Cares

At Lighthouse Baptist Church, we want to be a church that serves our community, encourages families, shares the Gospel, and points people to Jesus Christ.
